Pre-filled barrels
One barrel - two distilleries. Young, strong and full of flavor. The barrels were originally filled with bourbon in the USA before being carefully selected and then filled with single malt in Europe. The focus of these barrels is not the release of aroma through new wood, but rather the saturation with whiskey from their previous filling. These casks are ideal for storing and maturing distillates that need to spend a certain amount of time in a cask to develop their full aroma. They are more cost-effective compared to once-used barrels and also have a youthful freshness that is imbued with the characteristic aromas of bourbon. These characteristics make them perfect flavor carriers for the brewing industry, especially for refining beer. In addition, these barrels are also ideal for refining a variety of other products that can benefit from the additional aromas of whiskey, such as spices, coffee, cocoa beans and much more. By default, the drums are equipped with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you want a new silicone bung, you can order it under accessories (type standard - C16). Freshly emptied, highly aromatic 110 l gin barrels from one of Germany's best-known gin distilleries.Pre-emptied gin barrels are a very rare product, as the maturing of gin in wooden barrels has only just gained a fresh impetus. And speaking of fresh - this is precisely the special feature of gin barrels. The tart and herbaceous spice of resin and grass from the juniper berries is an incomparable aroma that can be imparted to your distillate by maturing or finishing it in pre-seasoned gin barrels. The variety and complexity of flavors in gin is an interesting component in the finishing process of distillates. It is not for nothing that gin is a popular player in the bar scene. After all, gin and its aromatics are an indispensable component of many cocktails, which reflects its diversity but also its compatibility. This compatibility of flavors shows how a barrel of gin can add that certain something to your product. The barrels are fitted with a used wooden or plastic stopper as standard. If you would like a new silicone bung, you can order this under accessories (type Standard - C14).The barrels are supplied without barrel storage or trestle.Pre-used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood, external stress cracks or possibly an uneven base are not quality defects, but are rather determined by the nature of the construction and the previous use of the barrels. Please inquire for current availability. Fresh barrels expected to be available again in the first quarter of 2026Freshly emptied 125 l Whisky barrels. These American white oak barrels were made exclusively for Laphroaig Distillery. The special thing about Laphroaig's Quarter Cask Whisky is that it is first stored in used bourbon casks and then in the smaller 125 l casks (the so-called double-mature process). In the past, these casks have only come into contact with Laphroaig whiskies, which is why they give off a smoky aroma of peat ash and an intense malt and citrus scent. The relatively large surface area in the cask gives your distillate a fine structure with an extraordinary depth. Supplied without barrel storage or racks. By default, the drums are equipped with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you want a new silicone bung, you can order it under accessories (type standard - C16). The Ardmore Distillery lies in the Scottish Highlands and has traditionally a strong connection with the region and the locals. Ardmore Whisky is naturally at the heart of this connection. Although the distillery has had several name changes since it was founded in 1898, it remains fundamentally the same distillery and its buildings are included in the Scottish Heritage list. Ardmore Whisky is renown for its especially gentle and pleasing flavour. This flavour is immediately recognisable in the nose from the very first whiff: the notes of heather, sweet honey with light smoke come together to produce a very special blend in which hints of cinnamon and toffee are also recognizable. On the palate, the flavour of the lightly peated whisky gives way to notes of creamy vanilla, spices and sweet honey paired with light smokey flavours. The complexity of Ardmore Whisky is instantly recognizable with its soft, lingering aftertaste combined with full spicy notes. The years of aging in the barrels allow the barrel staves to absorb the full whisky flavour. This interaction not only allows the whisky to mature but will also impart a wonderful flavour when the barrels are re-filled. As the whisky only has the slightest hint of peat, this opens the door for a wide range of possibilities for re-using these barrels. Supplied without barrel storage or racks. By default, the barrels are equipped with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you want a new silicone bung, you can order it under accessories (type standard - C16). Used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood or, in certain circumstances, an uneven base, do not constitute a quality defect, but stem from the idiosyncrasies of the production method and the prior use of the barrels. Freshly emptied 225 l Amarone barrels from Italy. Amarone is a special red wine from Italy (region Veneto), which is produced by a unique process. The grapes from which Amarone is made dry for several months on wooden racks or straw mats in ventilated storage rooms or under roofs. During this time they are turned and layered by hand. Only shortly before the grapes dry to raisins, the pressing begins. The wine then ages for at least two more years in wooden barrels. The result is a heavy, powerful, almost creamy wine with a deep red colour and a great variety of aromas. The wine bears the name because of its slightly bitter note. Bitter means "amaro" in Italian. Barrel will be deliverd with a wooden or silicon bung. CultivationAmarone vines are grown north west of Verona – between Lake Garda and Verona – in the vineyards if Valpolicella. Amarone della Valpolicella wines hold the highest Italian quality branding DOCG (Denominatione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) since 1968. Amarone always consists of following vines:- Corvina- Rondinella ProductionAccording to the Appassimento or Recioto technique, the grapes will be air dried in good ventilated storages for 2-4 months. Hence much sugar and extractives will be left and high concentrated wines will be produced. The fermentation stops very soon and is followed by a sweet Amarone with 15 % Alc. Vol.. Some alcohol-resistend yeast will transform the remaining sugar in more alcohol if the mash gets more time to rest. A dry Amarone with 16-17% Alc. Vol. is the result. This technique is called “Miracolo dell’Amarone”. Used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood or, in certain circumstances, an uneven base, do not constitute a quality defect, but stem from the idiosyncrasies of the production method and the prior use of the barrels. Freshly emptied 190 l rum barrels from Fiji. Not all countries supply the market with rum; especially in smaller countries, there are often none or only one distillery. In precisely these cases, particular attention should be paid to the product – and in our case, to the barrel. These distillates often possess a unique character, just like the rum that was aged in the barrels from Fiji. This rum from the picturesque holiday island of Fiji was distilled in both pot stills and column stills. It was then aged for two to three years in American bourbon barrels. Aromas: apple, banana, pear, wood, honey, ginger, molasses, gooseberry, and vanilla Barrel is supplied with a wooden or silicone bung. Pre-used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood, superficial stress cracks, or possibly an uneven base are not quality defects but rather characteristics resulting from the construction method and prior use of the barrels. The functionality of the barrel is not affected. We carefully inspect all barrels for sensory and technical defects during incoming quality control.
