Our freshly emptied 400-litre white wine barrels come from Catalonia, one of the most renowned wine regions in northeastern Spain. Catalonia is famous not only for the Costa Brava, Barcelona, and the majestic Pyrenees, but also for its rich and long-standing winemaking tradition.
The white wine-producing areas are primarily located in the central and southern parts of the region along the Costa Daurada (Golden Coast, south of Barcelona) and in the mountainous hinterland stretching to the Segre River. The far northeast, near the French border at the Costa Brava, is also home to important vineyards.
Wine has been produced in Catalonia since ancient times – a tradition that continues to this day. The region still yields excellent, fruity white wines aged in high-quality oak barrels. These casks not only shape the wine’s flavour, but also add unique notes when reused for aging beer or spirits.

Barrel will be deliverd with a wooden or silicon bung.
Used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood or, in certain circumstances, an uneven base, do not constitute a quality defect, but stem from the idiosyncrasies of the production method and the prior use of the barrels. The usage of the barrel will not be affected by those! The barrels are very carefully checked by us at the exit control against sensor and technical errors. We assume no liability for cracks or splits that occur during maturation. A possible and a reasonable repair is not under guarantee.
