One of our great strengths is our solution-oriented approach. From barrels and vats of different woods, finishes and applications to recycled and new furniture, the focus is on quality, starting with the careful selection of wood. Only wood from certified forestry finds its way into our sawmill, where it is given a second life.
The product range is expanded to include alternative wood products and traded barrels from strong and long-standing partner cooperages as well as high-quality pre-filled barrels from all over the world.
The entire Wilhelm Eder GmbH team is made up of around 50 colleagues who work hand in hand every day to meet the needs of our customers from all sectors, from production to order processing and shipping.
Part of the philosophy is the great potential for advice tailored to a wide range of individual needs. The intensive examination of the product and the customer’s wishes is what makes the perfect pairing with the individually ideal wooden barrel possible.
A comprehensive service includes work beyond the sale. We are also happy to take care of this:
- Commissioning the barrels/vats
- Cellar management
- Storage and provision
- The reconditioning or disposal of barrels
- Personalization through individual laser branding or carving
The family-run company not only focuses on a circular value chain process in its own business, but is also actively committed to forest protection and conservation. Examples of this include active reforestation through the planting of trees or the sponsorship of a lynx released into the wild in the Palatinate Forest.

As a graduate in political science with a focus on sustainability, she takes care of this important aspect in our production as well as the merchandise and thus brings new perspectives with her. Anyone who visits us at trade fairs will always meet her and her expertise in sales and marketing.
Cooper
How could it be otherwise, Coopi is the family dog and cheers up everyone in the office every day.
Warehouse & Shipping
Warehouse
Even though our warehouse is computerized, good warehouse management stands and falls with the employees. Our warehouse manager has his 5000 m² fully under control. He has almost every piece of information stored in the computer system in his head!
All incoming goods are processed and stored in our main warehouse so that you as a customer can order from a large portfolio and we can deliver at short notice. This means a constantly changing warehouse in which items are rarely stored twice in the same place. We have developed a system that keeps the storage locations and incoming and outgoing goods constantly up to date.
Shipping
Everything comes together here!
Regardless of whether the workpiece comes from the cooperage, the joinery or the sawmill, our logistics team ensures a smooth process and quality assurance to ensure the best possible delivery!
Every day, 1-2 truckloads of barrels are checked, packed and loaded there!
Sawmill
The foundation stone for our own sawmill was laid in the truest sense of the word in July 2014.
This was the time when a former warehouse was structurally prepared for the saws. Tom and Toni arrived along with the large saw for the mirror cut and a smaller log band saw.
The well-coordinated team supplies the entire company with wood, whether it’s stave wood for the barrels, beams for the barrel stores or offcuts for the joinery – everything starts in the sawmill!
Cooperage
Fire, smoke and anvil pounding – seven trained coopers join, hammer, toast and grind to build your barrel.
It is this team that you can also see when the cellar is being filled or emptied. After all, the work is far from over with the construction of a large barrel.
In most cases, older barrels must first be removed at the customer’s premises so that the new ones can then be installed.
Carpentry
Here, the barrels are given a second life.
Our carpenters convert barrels that are no longer used for storing wine, beer or distillates. This results in beautiful shelves, cabinets, tables, benches and much more.
Even the wood that is cut in the sawmill but cannot be used by the coopers (due to knots, growths or a visible forest edge) is reused by the carpenters, from wooden boxes to table tops – there are no limits to the imagination.
Sales
Our colleagues in the sales force are as diverse as our product range. All three are experts in their field, but their characters could hardly be more different.
If you have the opportunity to visit us at a trade fair: do it. It is an experience to meet the entire sales team. Of course, you can contact us all year round.
Front- & Backoffice
When you call the Eder company, you will invariably be greeted by a friendly voice. The office is just as diverse as the other departments. A wide variety of characters come together to form a harmonious team.
Professional competence, courtesy and the right amount of charm and humor make up our office team.
The accounting, front office and online store departments work hand in hand to ensure smooth processes and communication with customers, suppliers and business partners.
Adela
When the numbers on paper are just spinning for others, Adela keeps an overview as an accountant. No customer or product gets past her desk.
Saskia
Saskia is responsible for all product photos, advertising campaigns and newsletters. As data protection officer, she takes care of customer security in the online store.
Angela
In her long time with us, Angela has already supported several departments and also the trade fair appearances. Angela now supports the e-commerce team as a hard-working copywriter and creator in new projects.
Lea-Sophie

After a school internship, Andree decided to start an apprenticeship with us and has since become a real member of the cooper team with great perseverance.
Jens
Jens is our cheerful man and spreads good cheer wherever he goes. When he’s not building barrels in the cooperage, he’s often on site and is a great help to us and our customers. He also keeps a close eye on the incoming and outgoing goods of production equipment.

Miroslaw
Mirek is one of our longest-serving colleagues and has the shipping department as well as the wood alternative products and the production of all decorative goods firmly under control. Always in a good mood, you can always ask him for help.
Thomas
The life of every barrel begins with Tom, because as team leader of the sawmill, he stands at the saw in all weathers and cuts our wood. He not only keeps an eye on the saw, but also on the quality of the wood. Day after day, he patiently carries out many manual operations and moments.
Gaetano
Toni works day in, day out and hand in hand with Tom in our sawmill, ensuring that the coopers and carpenters are supplied with wood. Even in wind and weather, Toni always has a smile or a wave from afar for everyone and during the lunch break there is sometimes Italian pasta
Sebastian
Sebastian is a master carpenter and an ideal addition to the team of carpenters. His extravagant and elegant furniture designs made from disused barrels quickly caught on, and so did Sebastian. His level-headed and organized manner makes good teamwork possible.
Igor
Igor is also actively involved in our warehouse every day. He ensures that the barrels leave our warehouse in good condition. He also assists with loading and unloading containers and trucks. He is never at a loss for a joke.
Sascha
Sascha is a carpenter and one of our longest-standing colleagues and not only leads the carpentry team in our company, but also co-founded it. Under his creative and organized leadership, barrels find a second life as furniture and professional equipment for large barrels is brought to life.
