Rum barrel 190 l - Fiji

Product information "Rum barrel 190 l - Fiji"

Freshly emptied 190 l rum barrels from Fiji.

Not all countries supply the market with rum; especially in smaller countries, there are often none or only one distillery.

In precisely these cases, particular attention should be paid to the product – and in our case, to the barrel. These distillates often possess a unique character, just like the rum that was aged in the barrels from Fiji.

This rum from the picturesque holiday island of Fiji was distilled in both pot stills and column stills. It was then aged for two to three years in American bourbon barrels.

Aromas: apple, banana, pear, wood, honey, ginger, molasses, gooseberry, and vanilla

Barrel is supplied with a wooden or silicone bung.

Pre-used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood, superficial stress cracks, or possibly an uneven base are not quality defects but rather characteristics resulting from the construction method and prior use of the barrels. The functionality of the barrel is not affected. We carefully inspect all barrels for sensory and technical defects during incoming quality control. We assume no liability for cracks or splits that occur during maturation. Any possible and reasonable repair is not covered under warranty.

Rum barrel 190 l - Dominican Republic
Rum barrel 190 l - Dominican Republic

This 190-liter wooden barrel has had a fascinating journey. It was first used to mature US bourbon, which is known for its sweet, spicy aromas. After the bourbon was bottled, the barrel was sent to the Dominican Republic, where it was filled with molasses-based rum.By maturing in the former bourbon barrel, the rum absorbed the remaining vanilla and caramel notes of the bourbon, giving it additional depth and complexity. At the same time, the rum developed its own aromas of tropical fruit and brown sugar. The result is a harmonious rum that combines the best qualities of both worlds. This special storage demonstrates how thoughtful barrel storage can enrich the flavor profile of a distillate and is a must for lovers of high-quality spirits.Pre-used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood, external stress cracks or possibly an uneven base are not quality defects, but are rather determined by the nature of the construction and the previous use of the barrels. This does not affect the functionality of the barrel. We check the barrels very carefully for sensory and technical defects during the outgoing inspection. The result is a heavy, powerful, almost creamy wine with a deep red colour and a great variety of aromas. The wine bears the name because of its slightly bitter note. Bitter means "amaro" in Italian. Barrel will be deliverd with a wooden or silicon bung. CultivationAmarone vines are grown north west of Verona – between Lake Garda and Verona – in the vineyards if Valpolicella. Amarone della Valpolicella wines hold the highest Italian quality branding DOCG (Denominatione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) since 1968. Amarone always consists of following vines:- Corvina- Rondinella ProductionAccording to the Appassimento or Recioto technique, the grapes will be air dried in good ventilated storages for 2-4 months. Hence much sugar and extractives will be left and high concentrated wines will be produced. The fermentation stops very soon and is followed by a sweet Amarone with 15 % Alc. Vol.. Some alcohol-resistend yeast will transform the remaining sugar in more alcohol if the mash gets more time to rest. A dry Amarone with 16-17% Alc. Vol. is the result. This technique is called “Miracolo dell’Amarone”. Used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood or, in certain circumstances, an uneven base, do not constitute a quality defect, but stem from the idiosyncrasies of the production method and the prior use of the barrels. The usage of the barrel will not be affected by those! The barrels are very carefully checked by us at the exit control against sensor and technical errors. Bourbon barrel 190 l - Old Forester 1920 Bourbon
Bourbon barrel 190 l - Old Forester 1920 Bourbon

Bourbon barrel, freshly emptied ca. 190 l, from the distillery Old Forester in the USA. Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style Whisky is a product whose name says it all. To understand its significance, one must look back to the year 1920 and the “Volstead Act of 1920.” During Prohibition in the United States, only six distilleries in Kentucky were permitted to continue distilling bourbon for medicinal purposes—Old Forester among them. It is also the only bourbon that was sold by the same company before, during, and after Prohibition. What makes it special: during Prohibition, the whisky was only allowed to be bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). Since the whisky entered the barrel at 100 proof, it reached a barrel strength of 115 proof (57.5% ABV) after the angel’s share. As a tribute to that era, Old Forester released the 1920 Prohibition Style Bourbon at 115 proof.  Flavor profile: Cherries, caramel, dark chocolate, and maple syrup Malty, nutty, nougat notes Long finish with toasted coconut, dark chocolate, and toasted marshmallows By default, the barrels are equipped with a used wooden or plastic bung. Eagle Rare Bourbon from the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, is a refined and distinctive tasting experience. The barrels offer a classic bourbon flavor that is less sweet, but more complex and mature than many standard bourbons. Maturation: - In virgin oak barrels - At least 10 years - Alcohol content: 45% vol. (90 proof) Aroma: - Vanilla, caramel, honey - Orange peel, light herbal notes - Mature oak, leather & a hint of spice As standard, the barrels are fitted with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you would like a new silicone bung, you can order it under accessories (Type Standard – C16). Pre-used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood, external stress cracks, or occasionally an uneven base are not quality defects, but rather a result of the construction method and previous use of the barrels. The functionality of the barrel is not affected. All barrels are carefully inspected by us during outgoing quality control for sensory and technical defects. We assume no liability for cracks or splits that occur during maturation. Any possible and reasonable repair does not constitute a warranty service. Bourbonbarrel 190 l - twice selected
Bourbonbarrel 190 l - twice selected

One barrel - two distilleries. Young, strong and full of flavor. The barrels were originally filled with bourbon in the USA before being carefully selected and then filled with single malt in Europe. The focus of these barrels is not the release of aroma through new wood, but rather the saturation with whiskey from their previous filling. These casks are ideal for storing and maturing distillates that need to spend a certain amount of time in a cask to develop their full aroma. They are more cost-effective compared to once-used barrels and also have a youthful freshness that is imbued with the characteristic aromas of bourbon. These characteristics make them perfect flavor carriers for the brewing industry, especially for refining beer. In addition, these barrels are also ideal for refining a variety of other products that can benefit from the additional aromas of whiskey, such as spices, coffee, cocoa beans and much more.   By default, the drums are equipped with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you want a new silicone bung, you can order it under accessories (type standard - C16). Pictures are examples, colour variations are possible   Is Brandy only the number 2? I mean no, distillates especially matured in barrels of American or French oak, which have experienced a first occupation of sherry, I find great. Carefully matured in the Solera process or, in the case of large and valuable qualities, over years sometimes even decades in a barrel, one experiences true fireworks of flavor aromas and celebrations for the palate. Typical of the brandies from Spain and Portugal, from whose distillers we obtain our brandy barrels, is the taste of aromas such as plum, raisin, caramel and positively occupied by mahogany wood, to experience.  Brandy is somewhat easier and more accessible to enjoy as Cognac, certainly also conditioned as already mentioned by the storage in American oak barrels, which by nature already give a very large vanillin share to the distillate during maturation and finally the influence of sherry from these barrels - it is the sweetness that is associated with this and makes the brandy a favorite not only among connoisseurs! From our point of view, one of the most aroma-rich barrels for restocking with a profound finesse, a mouth caressing for the subsequent distillates and beers in the restocking.
