Freshly emptied barrels previously used for whisky. The barrels were used for 4 years and come from a traditional distillery in the Black Forest, Germany.
Aroma: Whisky matured in the barrel is characterized by a round, smooth aromatic structure. The wood therefore contains fine malt and grain notes, accompanied by gentle vanilla, light caramel sweetness, and subtle wood and spice nuances. The profile is complemented by warm, slightly nutty tones and a mild, harmonious sweetness, giving the barrel a particularly well-balanced aromatic imprint.
As standard, the barrels are fitted with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you would like a new silicone bung, you can order one under accessories (Type Standard – C16).
Pre-used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood, external stress cracks, or in some cases an uneven base are not quality defects but rather a result of the construction method and prior use of the barrels. The functionality of the barrel is not affected. The barrels are carefully inspected by us during final quality control for sensory and technical defects. We do not accept liability for cracks or splits that occur during maturation. Any possible and reasonable repair is not covered by warranty.
