Product information "Rumbarrel 190 l - Jamaika"

The freshly emptied Jamaica barrels - ex Bourbon - tell their very own story:
After distillation, used bourbon barrels (mostly from renowned US distilleries) are filled with the molasses rum for up to 16 years. The largest and best-known association of rum producers in the Caribbean, manages to create exclusive batches in this way. A special feature of the Jamaica rum barrels is that the rum which was stored in them often even isn’t available for purchase. After storage in the bourbon barrels, the rum is often finished in red wine barrels from mainland France. Other batches are combined with rum types from Barbados and Guyana to create a distinctive blend - the Caribbean in a bottle!

The barrel lids of the current Jamaican Rum barrels are provided with a bunghole, which our coopers firmly seal with a high quality wooden bung. The tightness is checked by air pressure. After filling with alcohol, the spot around the bung is to be observed and if necessary, the conical bung is hit even more firmly in the barrel.

This good rum from Jamaica has been aged in wooden barrels for several months bevor it has been filled into bottles and sold. This noble drops show their round and soft type. The rum loses in alcohol and takes aromas from the wood during storage in the barrels which often provides a warm vanilla flavor.

Used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood or, in certain circumstances, an uneven base, do not constitute a quality defect, but stem from the idiosyncrasies of the production method and the prior use of the barrels. The usage of the barrel will not be affected by those! The barrels are very carefully checked by us at the exit control against sensor and technical errors. We assume no liability for cracks or splits that occur during maturation. A possible and a reasonable repair is not under guarantee.
