Port wine barrel 30 l - filled with Tawny Port

The 30 l barrels, made from French oak, are filled with Tawny Port - vintage 2018 and are not emptied by us.

At the Portuguese winery Quinta do Vale da Perdiz, Douro wines and Port wines have been produced for more than two decades from the traditional grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca, which thrive on the slate-rich soils of the Quinta. The distinctive character of the Douro region and its terroir is wonderfully reflected in the wines of Quinta do Vale da Perdiz.

The port barrels show floral notes such as lavender and violets, but also rich berry aromas. The barrels show the warmth of Portugal with rich fruit and strong tannins.

Harness the red fruit and wild herb scents to achieve a full-bodied mouthfeel with distinct fruit, restrained tannins and a long finish.

By default, the drums are equipped with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you want a new silicone bung, you can order it under accessories (type standard - C16).

Used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood or, in certain circumstances, an uneven base, do not constitute a quality defect, but stem from the idiosyncrasies of the production method and the prior use of the barrels. The usage of the barrel will not be affected by those! The barrels are very carefully checked by us at the exit control against sensor and technical errors. We assume no liability for cracks or splits that occur during maturation. A possible and a reasonable repair is not under guarantee.
