Freshly emptied 400 l sweet wine barrels made of French oak which were filled with Monbazillac.
The Monbazillac is similar to liquer. According to legends the wine was developed because the monks in medieval didn’t looked after the vineyards anymore. Thereby some fungi could develop on the Sébillon-vines and withdraw their acidity and add more sugar.
The Monbazillac is formed from the vines Sébillon with its noble rot, Sauvignon and Muscadelle. It is an elegant vine with dominating nuances of honey, peach and a hint of Mirabelle.
Very good for maturing of high-quality distillates.
