Freshly emptied rum barrels (aged for 6 to 12 months with rum from the Dominican Republic)
New barrels made from European oak, lightly toasted and steamed like a white wine barrel before filling. All barrels are stored in Bad Dürkheim in our large warehouse and are filled with high-quality rum that we source from the Caribbean.
Up to 20 litres incl. barrel rack.
Flavor: tropical fruits and brown sugar
The Dominican Republic is renowned for its high-quality rum, which develops a unique flavor due to the use of special oak casks, often previously used for bourbon or whiskey, and the tropical aging conditions. Rum is made from sugarcane molasses, fermented, distilled, and aged in casks, where a portion of the rum evaporates (known as the “angel’s share”), making the remaining rum more concentrated. Rum is an important part of Dominican culture, enjoyed both neat and in cocktails.Barrel is supplied with wooden or silicone bung.
Pre-used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood, external stress cracks or possibly an uneven bottom are not quality defects, but are rather determined by the nature of the construction and the previous use of the barrels. This does not affect the functionality of the barrel. We check the barrels very carefully for sensory and technical defects during the outgoing inspection. We accept no liability for cracks or fissures that occur during maturation. A possible and reasonable repair is not covered by the guarantee.
Please note that the nominal size of wooden barrels does not always correspond to the net content, which may be higher or lower. Deviations do not constitute grounds for complaint.

High Spirit barrels
Classic Boulevardier meets the aromatic depth of Kiri wood The Boulevardier is considered the “warmer brother” of the Negroni – less bitter, fuller, smoother, and strongly influenced by bourbon. It impresses with its balanced harmony of bitterness, sweetness, and spicy depth. With our Boulevardier Cask 30 L – Kiri Wood, we have elevated this classic to an entirely new level of maturation. For this special cask project, a pre-mixed Boulevardier was matured in a 30-liter barrel made from high-quality Kiri wood. Kiri is a highly aromatic wood with significant cellulose and lignin content, capable of imparting distinctive aromas during maturation. Through a reduced-heat toasting process, the sugar molecules on the wood surface are carefully broken down while preventing the formation of smoky guaiacol aromas. This creates a particularly clean and sweetness-driven wood profile. The Boulevardier matured in the Kiri wood cask becomes noticeably softer and rounder than the classic version. While the original drink still carries a certain bitter structure, it is elegantly integrated and significantly softened here. The result is a fascinatingly harmonious cocktail: intense caramel and toffee notes pronounced vanilla from the wood softer, smoother bitterness fruity depth and sweetness on the finish The maturation gives the Boulevardier an almost creamy texture and an exceptional balance between bourbon warmth and woody sweetness. Including brass tap. The barrel is supplied with a wooden or silicone bung. Previously used wooden barrels: marks in the wood, superficial tension cracks, or occasionally an uneven base are not quality defects, but rather characteristics resulting from the construction method and prior use of the barrels. The functionality of the barrel is not affected. All barrels are carefully inspected by us for sensory and technical defects before shipping. We assume no liability for cracks or splits that may occur during maturation. Any possible and reasonable repair is not covered under warranty. Please note that the nominal size of wooden barrels does not always correspond exactly to the net volume, which may be higher or lower. Variations do not constitute grounds for complaint. Original bourbon barrel from the renowned Old Fitzgerald series by Heaven Hill, one of the most famous wheated bourbon lines from Kentucky. The barrels were previously used for aging a classic wheated bourbon (“wheated mash bill”) with a soft, sweet profile and are especially valued for their elegant, rounded aroma characteristics. Old Fitzgerald is known for its signature style with notes of vanilla, caramel, honey, pastry, light oak, and gentle spices. The barrel aging creates a comparatively soft and balanced wood influence, making these casks ideal for controlled finishing and secondary maturation. Typical characteristics: American white oak, 190 l Ex-Old Fitzgerald / wheated bourbon Mostly first-fill bourbon barrel character Sweet and smooth aroma profile (vanilla, caramel, honey, baking spices) Balanced, medium wood activity Ideal for delicate, aromatic spirits All images are sample images; visual variations are possible. A high-quality Kentucky bourbon barrel with classic wheated character — especially suitable for distilleries and craft distillers seeking a gentle, sweet-influenced cask maturation. We do not assume liability for cracks or splits that may occur during maturation. Any possible and reasonable repair is not covered under warranty. One barrel - two distilleries. Young, strong and full of flavor. The barrels were originally filled with bourbon in the USA before being carefully selected and then filled with single malt in Europe. The focus of these barrels is not the release of aroma through new wood, but rather the saturation with whiskey from their previous filling. These casks are ideal for storing and maturing distillates that need to spend a certain amount of time in a cask to develop their full aroma. They are more cost-effective compared to once-used barrels and also have a youthful freshness that is imbued with the characteristic aromas of bourbon. These characteristics make them perfect flavor carriers for the brewing industry, especially for refining beer. In addition, these barrels are also ideal for refining a variety of other products that can benefit from the additional aromas of whiskey, such as spices, coffee, cocoa beans and much more. By default, the drums are equipped with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you want a new silicone bung, you can order it under accessories (type standard - C16). Pictures are examples, colour variations are possible Is Brandy only the number 2? I mean no, distillates especially matured in barrels of American or French oak, which have experienced a first occupation of sherry, I find great. Carefully matured in the Solera process or, in the case of large and valuable qualities, over years sometimes even decades in a barrel, one experiences true fireworks of flavor aromas and celebrations for the palate. Typical of the brandies from Spain and Portugal, from whose distillers we obtain our brandy barrels, is the taste of aromas such as plum, raisin, caramel and positively occupied by mahogany wood, to experience. Brandy is somewhat easier and more accessible to enjoy as Cognac, certainly also conditioned as already mentioned by the storage in American oak barrels, which by nature already give a very large vanillin share to the distillate during maturation and finally the influence of sherry from these barrels - it is the sweetness that is associated with this and makes the brandy a favorite not only among connoisseurs! From our point of view, one of the most aroma-rich barrels for restocking with a profound finesse, a mouth caressing for the subsequent distillates and beers in the restocking.

Aromas of baked apples, cinnamon and nuts, as well as vanilla flavours from the toasting have an effect on the nose when the bung is open; the fruity apples and pears are clearly perceptible in the undertone.Generally spoken, Calvados could be described as "apple brandy from Normandy". But this rather sober formulation does not do it justice in any way. As with many other distillates, there is a very special philosophy behind Calvados. First of all, there are the 11 departments in Normandy, which are the only ones that have the right to use the name "Calvados". There are only exactly 48 varieties of apples that are allowed to be produced - for comparison: in Europe alone there are almost 20,000 varieties of apples. These apples are then pressed into cider after harvesting - already here the recipe plays a special role: exactly 40% bitter or bittersweet, 40% sweet and 20% sour apples are used to achieve the desired taste. The cider obtained is quite tasty, with a maximum of 5% alcohol but still too weak for the (French) palate. So the cider is now fermented in tanks. Depending on the department and taste of the distiller, this takes between 21 and 48 days. Only then is the actual calvados distilled. In a special procedure it gets its own special note, which is further refined by the storage in wooden barrels. The barrel maturation lasts at least two, in some cases even many more years. The longer the storage in wooden barrels (which are also made exclusively from French oak), the more aromatic the calvados becomes. The aromas of chocolate, light smoke and walnut speak for themselves and make Calvados a distillate that has maintained its importance for decades - and will continue to do so in the future. Calvados is a popular aperitif or digestif. In France calvados is also often drunk between two courses of a larger menu. The "trou normand" (Norman hole) is supposed to clean up the stomach and make room for the next courses, in other words, to practically make a "hole" in the stomach.By default, the barrels are equipped with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you want a new silicone bung, you can order it under accessories (type standard - C16). Freshly emptied 500 L Genever barrels from the Netherlands. The barrels were first filled with Sherry and then used for Genever during their second fill in the Netherlands. This special 500-liter Genever barrel tells an aromatic story in two acts: originally seasoned with Sherry, the wood carries a deeply rooted sweet and spicy foundation, now combined with the characteristic juniper notes of Genever. The previous Sherry fill has already imparted intense nuances of dried fruits, raisins, figs, and delicate caramel sweetness to the barrel. Subtle hints of nuts, oak, and an elegant oxidative note add depth and complexity. In combination with Genever, this creates a fascinating interplay of aromas: the classic, slightly malty and juniper-driven notes of Genever are gently rounded and enhanced by the warm, sweet Sherry influence. The result is a harmonious balance of spicy freshness and velvety sweetness – complex, smooth, and with a long finish. A barrel for those who seek something special and value character, history, and aromatic depth. As standard, the barrels are fitted with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you require a new silicone bung, it can be ordered separately (type Standard – C16). Pre-used wooden barrels: grooves in the wood, external stress cracks, or in some cases an uneven base are not quality defects, but rather a result of the construction method and prior use of the barrels. Please inquire for current availability. Fresh barrels expected to be available again in the first quarter of 2026Freshly emptied 125 l Whisky barrels. These American white oak barrels were made exclusively for Laphroaig Distillery. The special thing about Laphroaig's Quarter Cask Whisky is that it is first stored in used bourbon casks and then in the smaller 125 l casks (the so-called double-mature process). In the past, these casks have only come into contact with Laphroaig whiskies, which is why they give off a smoky aroma of peat ash and an intense malt and citrus scent. The relatively large surface area in the cask gives your distillate a fine structure with an extraordinary depth. Supplied without barrel storage or racks. Freshly emptied 190 l Whisky barrels from “the Queen of Hebrides” Islay. The origin of strong smoky and peaty Whiskies. The barrels have been filled with Jim Beam/Makers Mark Bourbon first and than with the peaty Whisky from the Scotch distillery Laphroaig. According to the legend some Irish monks brought the art of distilling to the island in the 14th century. Islay consists mostly of many layers of moss and other plants which are altered through rotting into peat. Winter storms are driving salty sprays from the ocean inwards the island and soaks the peat. At the same time the turf gets dried of the wind and thanks to this circle the Islay Whisky gets its unique character. Islay Single Malt Whiskies have more flavor than other Single Malts. They tend to be very dry and peaty but the mossy scents and spices are hidden behind the smoke. Barrel will be deliverd with a wooden or silicon bung. Used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood or, in certain circumstances, an uneven base, do not constitute a quality defect, but stem from the idiosyncrasies of the production method and the prior use of the barrels.
