Our whisky table is a real highlight for all whisky lovers. The special feature of this table is the integration of a barrel into the design. Your barrel is placed on a raised surface so that it is easily accessible for sampling. The raised support at bistro table height has been fitted with a table top on which glasses and accessories can be placed during tasting. This unique piece of furniture combines practicality with a touch of elegance and is a real eye-catcher.

Used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood or, in certain circumstances, an uneven base, do not constitute a quality defect, but stem from the idiosyncrasies of the production method and the prior use of the barrels. The usage of the barrel will not be affected by those! The barrels are very carefully checked by us at the exit control against sensor and technical errors. We assume no liability for cracks or splits that occur during maturation. A possible and a reasonable repair is not under guarantee.

The 30 l barrels, made from French oak, are filled with Tawny Port - vintage 2018 and are not emptied by us.

At the Portuguese winery Quinta do Vale da Perdiz, Douro wines and Port wines have been produced for more than two decades from the traditional grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca, which thrive on the slate-rich soils of the Quinta. The distinctive character of the Douro region and its terroir is wonderfully reflected in the wines of Quinta do Vale da Perdiz.
In terms of aromatic breadth, the barrels from Tawny pre-stocking show unbeatable. In addition to warm aromas of dried fruit, sweet dates and figs, as well as soft and nutty tones, a special blend of spice and freshness is especially apparent. Cinnamon and cloves are ideally complemented by floral tones such as lavender and violet, revealing a full-bodied and balanced aroma.
Expect a full-bodied mouthfeel with distinct fruit, restrained tannins and a pleasantly long finish.

The barrel is produced out of kiri wood in our cooperage.Kiri wood is a highly aromatic wood with considerable cellulose and lignin content.Paired
with heat-reduced toast, this ensures a significant splitting of the
sugar molecules on the surface of the wood while at the same time
preventing guaiacol smoke aromas.The result are
wooden barrels that offer strong flavours in the form of sweetness,
vanilla and fruit when matured with distillates, wines or beers.Our production of kiri wood barrels is another one of our innovative ideas. Widely unknown, the kiri is a cherry tree originating from Asia and is
the fastest growing tree in the world. German innovation companies are
now also planting this special tree under optimal growth conditions.
Growing up to 5 metres per year, the kiri tree produces wood at 10 times
the rate of oak. Although the production of kiri barrels is still in
its very early stages, they could in the future be a complement to

source in bulk from Portugal.Moscatel is the sweetest sherry grape
and the type that is drunk and enjoyed as a dessert wine. With a sugar
content of almost 500 g per liter of must remaining after the grapes
have been dried, this wine is pressed as a raisin. Moscatel or in German
Muscatel or Muskateller is considered one of the oldest grape varieties

They are made from Ash wood (Fraxinus excelsior), an old wood type for barrel-making. The barrels are for aging of distillates, such as grain and fruit spirits, but without release some of its color. This wood ensures a balanced maturation through a restrained micro-oxygenation without colorants.The spirit ages in the pureness of its nature and the taste is pleasantly soft.

We produce the chestnut barrels by ourselves under our own brand Eder - FassStolz®. Our chestnuts - one of the most valuable chestnut stews in Germany come from the region of Wasgau / Trifels.
Chestnut wood was already used in the 18th century for the storage of wines. It is characterized by a fine natural sweetness, pronounces the fruit body of the wine and controls little tannin to the wine. In the distillate sector chestnut wood is now particularly popular for apple distillates but also cherrybrandy and "harder" brandies such as Korn.
The barrels are toasted inside (over chestnut wood fire) and left outside raw. The bung stave is made of oak to ensure stability.

These acacia barrels are ideal for use as distillate barrels because the interior of this acacia barrel is raw – for better breathing and aging. The Robinia (acacia) offered by us as a barrel also comes from sustainable forestry from the Palatinate Forest, here from the Bürgerwald in Annweiler! The exterior of this acacia barrel has been toasted lightly. All of these barrels are equipped with galvanized hoops. The acacia barrels from small barrel series have been toasted lightly; the high toasted acacia barrels provide a strong punch with significant effects on whisky or Kornbrand etc.
The acacia barrels do not color as strongly as oak barrels or mulberry barrels, they hardly give cis-lactone and therefore they are suitable for pure maturation of many fruit spirits, such as elegant grape marc spirit.

Distillate barrels made of air- dried and fine – grain oak, an ideal oak for aging of your spirits or distillate. The barrel interior is toasted. It provides a nice golden-brown color and a unique character of barrel aging.
As an option you can choose a spigot as accessories.
The barrels up to 20 l capacity are light to medium toasted. For the 28-liter barrels, you can optionally choose a stronger toasting (Medium Plus).
