The freshly emptied 30 l cherry wood barrel previously used for pear brandy combines the natural sweetness and delicate spice of cherry wood with the characteristic pear aromas of Williams pear brandy.
Taste: The resulting aromatic profile is characterized by a fine, elegant fruit sweetness reminiscent of ripe Williams pears, combined with subtle wood notes such as light spice, a delicate almond hint, and a touch of honey. The cherry wood supports the fruit aromas without introducing dominant roasted notes, creating a round and harmonious overall impression.

By default, the barrels are equipped with a used wooden or plastic bung. If you prefer a new silicone bung, this can be ordered under accessories.
Pre-used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood, external stress cracks, or possibly an uneven base are not quality defects, but rather a result of the construction method and prior use of the barrels. The functionality of the barrel is not affected. All barrels are carefully inspected by us for sensory and technical defects before dispatch. We assume no liability for cracks or splits that may occur during maturation. Any possible and reasonable repair is not covered under warranty.

As an option we offer brass taps for installation in barrels. This spigot offers you a professional tapping from the barrel.In combination with an order of an oak barrel we install this tap without additional cost. In case you want to set up the tap by yourself, a drilling of 11 to 12 mm is required. Length of tap is ca. 7 cm, length without thread is ca. 4 cm
Handmade valinch made of copper for taking distillate samples from the wooden barrel. Those who are dedicated to distillates and are passionate about a certain luxury will find that certain something with the copper valinch. The whisky thief is now not only an indispensable and practical accessory, but also a visual eye-catcher. For the right tasting and also presentation of distillates, the -well better- valincher is the icing on the cake. In handling, the whisky thief does not differ in any way from its glass counterpart. Wooden tap for occasional tapping. For professional and permanent use, we offer a stainless steel tapImportant note – SpigotThe spigot has been designed for hobby use and incidental tapping. It shall consist of natural wood product with a cork gasket. Small leaks cannot be completely avoided and they are no cause for complaint. We offer the replacement of spigot in the shop. The spigot has to be watered at least 24 hours bevor use.We advise you to resign of spigot during aging and storage. There is a danger that the distillate leaks out of the drill hole. The sample may be taken from the bung hole.
