For Professional Applications

Due to their original use as vessels for storing vinegar, these stoneware amphorae may also be of interest for specialised cellar-management and food-processing projects. Suitability for the intended application must be assessed individually prior to use.

A Piece of German Vinegar-Making Tradition

The history of Lindenmeyer can be traced back to the company Georg Friedrich Rund, founded in Heilbronn in 1727. Vinegar production began there as early as the beginning of the 19th century.

Contemporary accounts of the vinegar manufactory describe the impressive vessels as amphora-shaped stoneware containers with capacities of several thousand litres, used for storing vinegar.

Today, these historic large-format vessels are being given a second life.

Original rather than reproduction.
Historic stoneware rather than plastic.

Important Information

Each vessel is a one-of-a-kind piece. Only a limited number are available.

The amphorae are historic utilitarian objects. Signs of use, variations in colour, irregularities and minor surface characteristics are part of the character of these vessels and make each piece unique.

If used as a water storage vessel, we recommend checking the amphora for watertightness before its final installation. For use with food, wine or beverages, professional assessment of its suitability for the intended application is required in advance.
