The special thing about Laphroaig's Quarter Cask Whisky is that it is first stored in used bourbon casks and then in the smaller 125 l casks (the so-called double-mature process).  In the past, these casks have only come into contact with Laphroaig whiskies, which is why they give off a smoky aroma of peat ash and an intense malt and citrus scent. Cream is a blend of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez and offers a even-tempered sweetness and balance. The Ardmore Distillery lies in the Scottish Highlands and has traditionally a strong connection with the region and the locals. Ardmore Whisky is naturally at the heart of this connection. Although the distillery has had several name changes since it was founded in 1898, it remains fundamentally the same distillery and its buildings are included in the Scottish Heritage list.
